Save and update agent versions¶

Use versions to make agent behavior repeatable.

Draft¶

A draft can change. Use it while you write instructions, select tools, set limits, and test.

Do not package or publish a draft.

Fixed version¶

Save a fixed version when the agent passes its tests. GaugeDesk gives that version a permanent identity based on its contents.

You cannot edit a fixed version. This rule lets another person confirm exactly which agent they received or ran.

Update an agent¶

Open the agent.
Create a new draft from the current version.
Make one clear change.
Repeat the agent tests.
Save a new fixed version.
Update each project or website deployment that needs the change.

Projects do not move to the new version by themselves. Existing website sessions stay on the version that they started with.

Make a separate agent¶

Create a separate agent when you need a different owner, purpose, trust boundary, or long-term update path. Keep the source version in the history so that reviewers can see where the new agent came from.

Withdraw a version¶

Withdrawal stops new use. It does not erase past runs or change their audit records.

If you erase stored content, GaugeDesk removes future access to that content but keeps the minimum event facts needed to explain past actions.

Check your work¶

Before you share a version, confirm:

the version is fixed;
its tests pass;
its provider and tools are correct;
its limits are narrow enough; and
the recipient can identify the same version.
